Healthcare & Life Sciences Technology Careers
We are a technology and design institute. We do not teach medicine, nursing, or clinical practice. We teach the software, data systems, product design and digital operations that modern healthcare runs on — applied to the specific regulatory, ethical and workflow constraints of the health sector. Every graduate remains employable in mainstream tech and marketing roles.
Scope: We work in health data analysis, clinical software design, hospital operations analytics, health platform engineering and healthcare digital marketing. We do not work in clinical practice, medical diagnosis, pharmacology, drug development or regulatory affairs. We work with institutions that do.
About Healthcare & Life Sciences in India
India's healthcare sector is undergoing a significant digital transition, driven by three forces: the government's Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), which is creating a national health ID and interoperable health records infrastructure; the growth of teleconsultation platforms accelerated by the pandemic; and the ongoing expansion of India's pharmaceutical and CRO sector, which remains one of the world's largest.
For technology professionals, the healthcare opportunity is concentrated in three areas. Clinical data management and pharmacovigilance — centred in Pune, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad — has been a well-established employer of data professionals for two decades, with CROs like Parexel, ICON and IQVIA operating large India offices. Hospital information systems — encompassing EHR implementation, hospital operations analytics and patient-facing digital products — is growing as hospital groups invest in technology. Health technology startups — teleconsultation, diagnostics, wearables, AI-assisted clinical tools — represent a newer but increasingly significant employer, concentrated in Bangalore and Mumbai with smaller clusters in Pune.
The regulatory environment is substantive. Clinical trial data management is governed by ICH GCP internationally and CDSCO domestically. Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) has its own classification and approval pathway under CDSCO. Health data is now covered by India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, which imposes specific obligations on the processing of health data as a category of sensitive personal data. Professionals working in this sector need working familiarity with these frameworks — not legal expertise, but enough to know when to escalate.

Career Paths
Roles in Healthcare & Life Sciences
Each page includes an honest account of what the role involves, realistic salary ranges, and who actually hires for it.
Health Data Analyst
Health data analysts work across hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, contract research organisations (CROs) and health technology companies — turning clinical, operational and commercial data into decisions. In Pune and Ahmedabad this is a well-established job market, driven by pharma and the growing health IT sector.

Medical UX Designer
Medical UX designers work on the interfaces that clinicians, patients and healthcare administrators use every day — from hospital information systems and teleconsultation apps to diagnostic device screens and patient portals. It is a specialisation within product design, and it carries regulatory obligations that general UX work does not.

Clinical Data Manager
Clinical data managers (CDMs) are responsible for the quality, integrity and regulatory compliance of data collected during clinical trials. It is one of the most established health data careers in Pune, where CROs and pharma companies have been operating for two decades. The role requires systematic thinking and tolerance for regulatory process as much as data skills.

Note: Healthcare in India is governed by multiple regulatory bodies: CDSCO for drugs and medical devices, MCI/NMC for medical practice, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 for health data. Our courses teach the technology and data skills that operate within these frameworks — we do not provide clinical, legal or regulatory compliance advice. Learners working in clinical data management or medical device design will need to complete domain-specific GCP and usability engineering training as part of their career development.
